St. Anthony of Padua

This blog entry is, greatfully, a day late, because it provides the opportunity to share a favorite Saint among Catholics and non-Catholics, alike. After all, Anthony is head of the heavenly lost and found department. This Washington Post article tells why. http://onfaith.washingtonpost.com/onfaith/catholicamerica/2008/07/praying_to_st_anthony_for_lost.html
The psalm book about which the article speaks was the Divine Office, which priests like Anthony are under obligation to recite each day.
To read a detailed account of the short life of St. Anthony, who only lived 36 years, follow the link posted by the American Shrine of St. Anthony: http://www.shrineofstanthony.org/st-anthony.htm

Happy feast day to all the wonderful Anthonys out there, and especially to Brigitte Pauline Anthony Bogaardt
